All is not well in the Dedham Vale AONB

Essex Highways has announced their intent to submit a planning application on 26 November for 'full bridge re-construction on a widened footprint incorporating highway alignment and junction improvements.'  Boxted bridge is situated in the heart of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The purpose of an A.O.N.B is "to conserve and enhance natural beauty". Statutory bodies, such as Essex Highways, have a duty to pay due regard to the purposes of an A.O.N.B, that includes in it's defined features, Cultural heritage that is to include Built environment....  More news on this to follow in the coming days.
