As the Heritage Assessment for Boxted Bridge points out:

"The confluence of roads at this junction has been subject to very little change. The bridge is still prominent in views to and from both heritage assets, reinforcing their position at this river crossing and permitting an appreciation of the setting which has been subject to almost no change since c.1900".
