Why on earth squander £1 million of public money to replace the current structure on a wider footprint to allow for the safe movement of fire engine and refuse vehicles (HGVs?) at the junction? All three approach roads are single lane rural roads with passing places as you will see in this movie. We suggest that to repair and strengthen the bridge would cost less, be less disruptive, have less carbon footprint, and would demonstrate Essex County Council's compliance with its statutory duty of regard to conserving and enhancing the beauty of the Dedham Vale AONB under Section 85 of the CROW Act 2000.
