Residents of Essex will feel safer in their own homes if the street lighting was returned to normal - lights to stay on from the time that it becomes dark.Far too many residents are being affected by crime including myself this week. Lives are being put in danger. Crime figures will show that criminals are not being caught and stopped. Police cuts+ lights out = people do not feel safe anymore. 

Essex County Council need to seriously look into this situation 

For as little as 20 pence a a month, these lights can stay on, but it is Essex County Council that are choosing to keep the lights off, to save money!

The costs involved with being a victim of a crime really outweighs the costs to have lights on, or be charged for the lights to stay on. People are scared to go out at night,  people don't go to work to buy things for their homes to have it stolen.  Homes insurance will increase as we become a high risk area for the underwriters. Policing streets in complete darkness is causing additional problems and the criminals are getting away with it. Policing needs to be looked at for the whole area of Essex as this too appears to be a problem.

Essex County Council it is time for you to look closer at these problems and do something about it - as we the people are what Essex is made of.
