Since the update to Android 9.0, also known as Android Pie, Essential Ph-1 users lost the software features to fully utilize their display space surrounding the “notch” . Many Essential users have been affected by this change and their ability to interact with their phones is now limited.

Given the support achieved by this petition, we respectfully demand that Essential:

- acknowledge the request
- offer options for users affected by the changes
- offer timelines for reimplementing software support that enables superior functionality for the “notch”.
