Original name of the petition: Rate the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection "T" for Teen; not "M" for Mature!

Original description as of 3/17/2019:

It has been recently announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be released for the PC (both Windows 10 and Steam) later this year. It has also been announced that Halo: Reach will finally be a part of the MCC, both the PC version and the Xbox One version.

This game compilation features six games that happen to be rated "M" for Mature and six of these games never had a valid reason to have that rating. All the content from these games are too mild for a bunch of "M"-rated games and they can be compared to the violence found in recent shooters that happen to be "T"-rated. (Examples: Destiny 1 & 2, Overwatch, Halo 5: Guardians)

The Xbox One version of the Master Chief Collection may have kept its "M"-rating for almost five years, but that doesn't mean that we can't petition the ESRB to get them to rate the Master Chief Collection for the PC "Teen". All the "M"-rated Halo games had an ESRB rating that never made any sense at all.

This is our chance to get the ESRB to re-rate these six "M"-rated Halo games and to make sure that they all get the "T"-rating that they truly deserve.

Update as of 11/16/2019:

The PC version of the Master Chief Collection has been rated “M” for Mature and will be released on December 3rd of 2019. It has been rated “M” for the following descriptors:

• Blood and Gore
• Violence
• Language

As mentioned in the original description, the content from the Master Chief Collection are too mild for a “M”-rated game and it is comparable to a lot of “T”-rated games, mostly recent shooters. The ESRB staff would’ve refrained from rating the game “M” anyway but they just did.

Just because they rated it “M” doesn’t mean it’s all over. We can still get them to change the rating to “T”, which is the ESRB rating that the Master Chief Collection truly deserves.
