Fellow Jets fans and petition signers - I have decided to declare victory on this petition due to dwindling signature acquisition. That's not to say it won't remain open, but I think getting over 750 people to sign and comment is a victory in itself. Congratulations and thanks to everyone! Personally, I doubt Mr. Cimini is going to change his ways - his recent tweets and comments about Tim Tebow confirm to me that he still is, and always will be, an unhappy troll who focuses on previous negative events (Buttfumble and Tebow specifically) versus positive potential (currently Eric Decker, the D-Line, and even Geno Smith). But we showed Cimini that we could fill a high-school gymnasium with people who want to see him go. Fans who don't want a blind, positive spin on the Jets, but rather objective reporting that acknowledges the bad AND the good equally. Readers who dislike childish, sarcastic sentences from the following person: A man who once tweeted that Kenrick Ellis was a druggie (http://www.ganggreennation.com/2011/5/1/2147954/rich-cimini-called-kenrick-ellis-a-druggie). An idiot who was so stupid and technologically-challenged he tweeted that his co-worker, Jane McManus, submitted a "shit" practice report (http://thebiglead.com/2013/05/13/direct-messages-on-twitter-remain-dangerous-espn-new-york-edition/). A "reporter" who created a fake Twitter account to discredit and slander his fellow beat writers (http://forums.jetnation.com/topic/108539-rich-cimini-accused-of-using-fake-twitter-account-to-discredit-fellow-writers/). Rich Cimini isn't going anywhere, but maybe, just maybe, he will see the light and adjust his coverage accordingly. And we must practice what we preach - if Rich promises to write more positively, we'll forgive him for the above mistakes, and for any poor articles he has written in the past. And, we won't harp on them in the future, because that's not what Jets fans are about. Onwards and upwards my friends. And let's keep our fingers crossed for a great NFL season! Sincerely, A Jets Fan
