Esperanto: an official language of the European Union now!

Esperanto: an official language of the European Union now!
The Issue
One of the founding principles of the European Union is the equality of languages and cultures. With 23 official languages, it is difficult to respect this principle. And today it is English that is favoured relative to other languages. For example, English is the only working language of the BCE. Europeans who do not speak English are disadvantaged relative to others.
Choose Esperanto, a neutral language which is easy to learn, as the language of the EU, in order to create a level playing field for the European peoples. Furthermore, having the same language throughout Europe would permit a European debate in which all nations could understand each other and thereby create a more democratic Europe.
In addition, according to the Grin Report written by a Swiss economist, promoting the learning of Esperanto instead of English would save 25 billion euros to the EU every year.

Esperanto, an official language of the European Union, now!
We, citizens of Europe and of the world, call upon you to make Esperanto the 24th language of the European Union, for a Europe that is more democratic and more just with respect to every language and culture on the continent. Choosing Esperanto is another step in the construction of Europe. There is a lack of debate at the European level. Europe must not be only an economic entity; it must be a Europe of the peoples.
Please, share it!
