Kyler Vickery started this petition to Escambia County School District

The Escambia County School district has began to enforce a strict and to some unfair dress code policy. As students of Escambia county we feel as though our clothing does not distract from our learning nor disrupt our learning within a school day.

Understand that we aren’t asking for people to be allowed to wear literally nothing, but we need to be able to wear what we want as it is how people express themselves and how some may even build their confidence.

We feel as though instead of teachers standing and looking for crop tops we should be focusing on how we can better our education and learning. This is simply a waste of resources when dress code does not have anything to do with education.

Today my friend was grabbed by a dean and was harassed over her clothing when instead she could have been learning. Then as we went to get her a jacket we were questioned as to why we were in the parking lot. After we were told to go get her a jacket. Mind you my other friends crop top was completely covering her stomach and shoulders.

We feel as though pointing people out and embarrassing them in front of others is more distracting than how some feel the clothing can be.
