Build the Yacolt Burn 4x4 Trails for everyone

The Issue

Over the last 3 years, DNR has been implementing Phase 1 of the 4x4 Trails at the Yacolt Burn. Unfortunately DNR has only catered to one user segment when building these trails, claiming there hasn't been enough demand for a more diverse trail system. As a result, these trails have been built as small logging roads, catering to only a small minority of 4x4 users. Even the obstacles that have been placed are tame, giving no challenge for those even with mildly built 4x4s.

Additionally, when the Phase 1, Part 3 grant was awarded, no one in the community was advised of DNR's plans. They made this grant despite the fact a large logging road was put in the middle of the planned trails. The community has concern about where these trails are being re-routed, as there are much better areas where the trails could be placed.

This petition is to urge DNR to include other user groups to participate as equals in the building and grant process, and open the trails as soon as they're passable, similar to Reiter foothills. This will allow user groups to provide feedback before construction is done, resulting in a much more diverse and better user experience for all 4x4 users.
