Zuleyka Silver started this petition to Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti and

On June 1, 2020, Chief of Police Michael Moore said, "We did not have protests last night, we had criminal acts. We did not have people mourning the death of this man George Floyd; we have people capitalizing. His death is on their hands as much as it is those officers..."

Michael Moore said that the death of George Floyd is in the hands of the protestors. It is our duty as Angelenos to remove those who perpetuate injustice and speak irresponsibly. Michael Moore has to go!

Let's not make excuses for Michael Moore and try to re-interpret his words. He made a very clear statement, and only when it backfired, he attempted to redact his words. He is unfit for his position, and his words are a reflection of how he views the current situation. We need a different leader for the LAPD if we want change.

Mayor Eric Garcetti and the Los Angeles Police Commission must act immediately and terminate Michael Moore's term as Chief of Police.
