As a Kerrville resident, I observe how our town grows daily, threatening to obscure our history, heritage, and shared roots. I believe we must not let progress drown our past; we must strive to learn and preserve our roots to enrich our present and future. The embodiment of this preserving spirit is the esteemed local historian and activist, Clifton Fifer Jr.

Clifton Fifer Jr., fondly known as Coach Fifer, has devoted his life to Kerrville and Texas history, consistently contributing to our community. As an educator, he's touched the lives of many across generations with his profound knowledge and love for our mutual past. Heritage preservation is not just his hobby; it's his life mission. He is a true role model for our future generations, reminding us to celebrate our history and build upon it.

It's time we reciprocate his dedication. A statue erected in Coach Fifer’s honor in Kerrville will stand as a beacon, a concrete testament to the importance of preserving and celebrating our local history and roots. Not only will this recognition serve to showcase the selfless work of a local hero, but it will also serve as a visible reminder for our community to cherish and learn from our past.

Please sign this petition to support the cause of erecting a statue in honor of Clifton Fifer Jr., remembering the past, cherishing the present, and inspiring the future.
