Under immense pressure, he guided Celtic back to the top of Scottish football and delivered another league title — over two decades after his first reign brought glory back to Parkhead. His return was about more than tactics or results; it was about reminding everyone what Celtic Football Club stands for.
At moments when the club’s identity and direction felt uncertain, Martin O’Neill steadied Celtic and protected the winning mentality that defines this football club. Just as he stopped Rangers’ historic ten-in-a-row in 2001 and reignited Celtic’s dominance, his return in 2025–26 once again proved his importance to the history and legacy of Celtic.
Very few figures in football history return to save a club twice. Martin O’Neill did.
That is why it is only right that Celtic supporters honour him now, while he can still witness the appreciation and gratitude he deserves. A statue outside Celtic Park would be a fitting tribute to a true living legend of Celtic Football Club.
To make this tribute a reality, we call upon Celtic F.C., the club’s shareholders, and Glasgow City Council to support the installation of a statue honouring Martin O’Neill outside Celtic Park.
This is more than a tribute to trophies and success — it is recognition of a man who restored pride, belief, and identity to Celtic Football Club across two different eras. Celtic supporters everywhere now have the opportunity to unite behind the recognition of a true living legend.
