As a passionate follower of the rich history of Hagerstown, I have always admired the contributions of our city's founder, Johnathan Hager. His legacy has shaped our community and it is only fitting that we honor him with a statue in our city park.

Johnathan Hager was not just the founder of our beloved city; he was also an influential figure who played a significant role in its development. He built his home, known as "Hager's Fancy," on 200 acres in 1739 and this area eventually grew into what we now know as Hagerstown.

Despite his significant contribution to our local history, there is currently no prominent public monument or statue dedicated to Johnathan Hager within the city limits. This seems like an oversight for someone who had such an impact on shaping the community we love and live in today.
