During the winter storm of February 2021 that crippled Texas, the PUC of Texas and ERCOT failed to properly manage the power infrastructure which allowed millions of Texans to go without power for days in sub freezing temperatures. This caused millions of dollars of damage as well as at least thirty deaths that could have been prevented.

ERCOT failed to provide Texas citizens with ample warning of power loss which would have allowed us to purchase extra supplies. Lack of communication and finger pointing kept many of us from getting any kind of answer. Failure to maintain our systems and winterize them led to solar and wind power failure. Due to lack of planning, a shortage in natural gas also occurred which led to generator failure at the plants.

Many members of the ERCOT board aren't even Texas citizens and don't have experience in the energy industry. We are requesting a complete and transparent investigation into the overall systematic failure that led to this catastrophe and take action against the board to ensure that our utilities are protected by people that have a vested interest in the welfare of our people. Monetary accountability also needs to be provided to those that will be facing massive repairs to their homes and to their lives.
