Equity through EMLK Hike and Bike Trail -
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
EMLK is a dream and design effort of more than few hundred people. It is supported by 90% of the EMLK region. It is the largest project design for District 1 and 3.
EMLK Hike and Bike Trail opens up 300 acres of Park and connects the following: 1 grocery, 5 parks, 4 schools, 1 community center, 3 swimming pools in EMLK planning area and close by neighborhoods. There is no north south local safe route which connects these facilities. The loss of opportunity, both social and economic is tremendous. This is a health, equity and safety issue - we cannot ignore it.
This part of the town gets least budget for any capital improvement project - hence we are requesting you to create the budget for the following items as mentioned below.
- Expedite the building of the La Loma Trail
- Get permission to build the hike and Bike trail through the Morris Williams Golf course. (link)
- Increase the priority of the trail through the Little Walnut Creek Park from Tier 2 to Tier 1.
- Create a connectivity to Springdale park from the south side through Fort Branch.
Urban Transportation Commission has approved this endeavour and we want to move forward. I have talked to some of your office liaisons. District 1 and 3 owns this projects and it borders with district 4 and 9. People are anxious to get these few things done. I hope you will help.
