For the love of K9 officers, I am writing this petition. As a proud supporter and advocate for police dogs, my fight to protect these brave creatures has been a solitary one for the past two years. Through my accounts @tori_policek9advocate on Instagram and TikTok, I've built relationships with K9 units across California and the nation. I've sponsored their fundraisers and supported them personally. Despite making attempts to work with state legislation, my efforts haven't yet brought the desired results. Now, it's time to reach out to you, the public, to join me in this critical mission.

It's alarming to note that while these police dogs are plunged into dangerous situations, they lack the necessary protective gear. A National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified ballistic vest can make a difference between life and death for these fearless dogs. However, such vests are not yet mandatory for police dogs in California.

These devoted K9 officers deserve better. They're not merely law enforcement tools but living beings that deserve the same protection as their human counterparts. These vests have already been proven to be effective in saving the lives of police officers, and it is high time that our police dogs are granted the same level of protection.
