Investigate institutional racism in the Conservative Party

Recently the heart-rending stories of British citizens caught up in Windrush scandal, and the Tory Councillor in Pendle reinstated after sharing racist remarks, have shown how prevalent racism is in the Conservative Party. 

But there is a long history of Tory racism, going back to Zac Goldsmith’s racist campaign against Sadiq Khan, Boris Johnson calling black people "piccanninies" with "watermelon smiles", Enoch Powell’s “rivers of blood” speech and beyond.

An independent investigation is long overdue – and to start them off, the EHRC could take as evidence this piece in the Guardian
