STOP THE FIGHTING!  REMOVE THE ABILITY TO USE CHILDREN AS PAWNS AND PAYDAYS!

Every day in the State of Kansas, the broken Family Court system removes loving parents from their children, and orders them into a visitor type status in their own children's lives as they allocate 'residential custody' to one parent or the other (70-90% to mom in Kansas).  Our society has study after study and mountains of evidence that children benefit from having equal time with BOTH parents and children that have an active father in their life get better grades, are less likely to abuse substances, are less likely to engage in crime, and are less likely to be a party to teen pregnancy, amongst mountains of other benefits from having an engaged father actively participating in their lives.

This is obviously an issue near and dear to my heart as the two young men that have been my little shadows since the day I cut each of their umbilical cords, have been taken from me and I am currently lucky to see them for a couple hours a week despite these teenage boys asking to live full time with me and reporting being safe and happy in my care.  I never failed as a father and I never even received as much as a speeding ticket their entire lives, however, I have been treated like a criminal and a second class citizen by the family court.  All I ever wanted was freedom from a toxic and unfaithful marriage and to continue to be a constant figure in my boys's lives.

In the year 2022 the thought that an American Court System could be deeply engaged in active bigotry is appalling, yet our own family courts destroy fathers on a regular basis in a biased and prejudice fashion as they remove fathers from their children's lives and make them paying visitors.  As with any atrocity we must follow the money.  Title IV-D legislation allows the State to get PAID to order and enforce child support to one parent or the other!  Many of you may not believe this grotesque practice is legal however with a little research you will find that we speak the truth.  This encourages courts to name a primary parent and set the other at minimum visitation and maximum payout thereby receiving maximum federal funding for their state.  This not only allows parents to use their children as pawns in the divorce, and seek a state mandated payout, but it puts loving parents in impossible financial situations that turn to criminal charges as the unpayable amounts continue to accumulate without possibility of discharge or hope of regaining financial freedom.

Let me be clear this is NOT a fathers only action as ALL good parents deserve their time with their children and above all, the CHILDREN DESERVE THE TIME AND LOVE OF BOTH PARENTS!

We can EASILY put a stop to this archaic and barbaric practice by passing EQUAL PARENTING IN KANSAS!  Upon divorce (unless one or both parents are proven unfit BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT), each parent would immediately be given 50/50 custody and each parent would be responsible for care and expenses during their parenting time with NO STATE MANDATED RANSOM PAYMENT aka 'child support'.

In this day and age the thought that a father cannot be a loving nurturing parent, and that a mother cannot support herself and her children is gross and outright bigotry.  We must do better.  We owe it to our children to remove them as pawns in the disgusting divorce battles and allow them equal time with each loving and capable parent.
