Since the Mayor and London's Night czar stated they're leading the city-wide charge to support and protect London's important grassroots music venues we have seen a decline in the number of venues willing to accept cultural reggae events in London, the surrounding counties and across the country.  Reggae culture is a reflection of the black experience, the black presence and contributions made to community, society, industry. It influences fashion trends and creativity among the young and old.  The right to gather together in local venues, to dance, enjoy popular reggae artists and musicians should be a cultural norm, so why are so many venues denying us access to their buildings?  Issueing late cancellations and restrictions that infringe on our cultural rights, human rights and freedoms.  If we don't speak out - nothing will change.

By signing you are supporting the call to Mayor Khan, the Night Czar, Ministers and Councillors to proactively acknowledge the disproporationate treatment of black people, the black presence, reggae culture and caribbean traditions, and requesting support for the campaign to obtain fare and equal access to opportunity to secure local venues in prime locations for cultural events.

We call upon the Mayor of London, Night Czar, Ministers and Councillors to engage appropriate measures that support the black british reggae community to gain fair and equal access to music venues for cultural events and entertaiment.

The black presence and black economy remain strong and have supported local government, economics and communities for generations. Many have signed here and support us with this call for equal treatment.  

With community we stand together, to support eachother and take this action to the Mayor and Minister of Culture for a response, and demand appropriate action is taken to protect the cultural rights of black people.  

If you love reggae music, you probably already know of its grassroots in the UK, its rich traditions and history. Perhaps you play or perform reggae music.
