Katie Fisher started this petition to University of Delaware and

The University of Delaware claims to recycle on campus. They promote recycling near their trash bins and dumpsters, but it is not collected. Trash and recycling are mixed together and are taken to landfills. They claim they use single-stream recycling, but nothing is ever done.

The university's population is comprised of almost 20,000 undergraduate students alone. Students are not educated on how to recycle properly, and so there is enough waste for 20,000 people.

The Delaware Solid Waste Authority is responsible for collecting University of Delaware's trash and recycling. They have even stated that they don't recycle at all.

We are creating this petition to force the university to find a new waste company that actually recycles or force the Delaware Solid Waste Authority to start recycling. We also want the University of Delaware to educate their students on how to recycle properly and educate about the importance of environmental issues.
