Alternative Ways to Please The Community and Episode

Alternative Ways to Please The Community and Episode
The Issue
Why The New Episode Changes Are Not Okay
As many of you might have heard already, Episode is changing the qualifying criteria for the writer’s payment, starting from May 2021.
We are writers on Episode, who feel betrayed and left out by Episode, and want to speak up to make a change! We think, that these changes are too harsh and not realistic to achieve.
For those of you, who don’t know: as of right now, Episode writers need to gain 100K reads AND 300 Gem choices across all their stories in 60 days OR gain 500K reads within 60 days to receive a payment from Episode.
Starting from May 2021, this will change to 100K reads AND 50K reads in 60 days (or the 500K reads alternative).
In addition to these changes, there were transitions in how a story’s rank is calculated. For a couple of months, writers are forced to add gem choices to their stories to meet the requirements for stories to be able to trend in different genres.
A lot of small and average writers, us including, think that Episode made too many changes recently, showing us, that they only care about revenue, completely ignoring the feedback we’ve given.
The target audience of this app, are teenagers, who don’t work yet and technically can’t spend their money on games like Episode. A large number of community writers are already struggling with reads. Unfortunately, a huge amount of stories, that are extremely good compared to featured stories or stories that have been out on shelves, have not gained the recognition they deserve.
Despite working hard, many small writers have to struggle because of prejudices about their stories. Readers thinking that a story isn’t good based on the number of reads is no rarety.
For countless hours of working for Episode for free, small writers have now to struggle with these ridiculous changes!
Episode has abandoned small writers so that they’re leaving the community!
We fully understand that some changes are inevitable, that’s why we want to share our ideas on how we can make this community more satisfied again and still let Episode make high revenue at the same time.
Suggestion 1: Decreasing the number of gems to 20K gems in 60 days.
Suggestion 2: Increasing the time frame to 4 months, instead of two.
These alternative ways would please both, the community writers and Episode.
If you agree and want to support us, please consider signing and sharing this petition!
Thank you,
@annaw.stories and @tyrastories.
