Currently, the global bee population is declining. There are several causes of this, one of the major sources being the use of pesticides. To combat the problem of the decreasing numbers, pesticides, like Neonicotinoids, should be closer regulated by organizations such as the Environmental Protection Agency. Without insect pollination, up to 75% of our current crops would decrease in productivity. Since bees are the most economically important group of pollinators, raising awareness of this issue could help to put restrictions in place that would battle the decrease of the bee population.
