Petition updateA Solution for Individuals With Lost Non-Compromised EOS Private KeysAnother step in the right direction

EOS Official Non-Compromised Lost Key GroupEverywhere, Switzerland
Jul 31, 2018
As many of our petition supporters may know, the latest info from block producers (and the ECAF) seems to indicate that a solution for the group will require the use of the "sudo function." For those who are not familiar, the sudo function, or command, will allow block producers to access accounts and complete transactions without the need for a private key--with the "okay," i.e. vote of 2/3 +1 top 21 block producers. It is important to note the requirement of a vote to avoid any misperception that this ability would allow a BP to independently do as they please. The voting requirement ensures it is simply another helpful tool in the belt of BPs running the blockchain. This function or command which will be essential for a variety of reasons on the EOS blockchain, including but not limited to the enforcement of most any type of arbitration ruling. In spite of the fact that sudo was added to the jungle test net, it has yet to undergo any meaninful testing. Furthermore, while it was topic of discussion at the recent EOS community UNconference, it has taken a back seat to other pressing issues. Fortunately, the sudo command has been added to the agenda for this coming Thursday's BP call (8/2/2018). Please check out the link below to live stream the BP call--courtesy of EOS Detroit.
Thank you everyone for your time and patience! Our solution is coming, but we need to remember it will take time. In the end, we are trying to retrieve funds on a blockchain without our private keys...a solution to our issue will quite literally be historical.
