Nearly one month to the day after submitting a "Non-compromised Lost Key" Claim, the ECAF replied with some promising news, "ECAF is still not processing Private Key issues due to a lack of BP capability to transfer account ownership. We will revisit this issue when that changes." This is more or less the first indication we token holders have received from the ECAF in which they indicate a solution for our group! While we are thrilled to receive this news, we must also realize that the ability of BPs to transfer account ownership will and must be a slow, well thought-out process; this type of "ability" inherently requires the handling over of a great deal of power which could be misused or abused. As a result, our patience will need to be stronger than ever as BPs debate and navigate the safest and most effective way to handle account ownership transfer.
