177 hectares of forest land in the Western Ghats is being destroyed to set up a power line to Goa through Karnataka. The Western Ghats are a highly ecosensitive region that play a major role in the rainfall and climate across India. We need to draw attention of the authorities and the courts to stop this destruction. We owe it to the flora and fauna in the region and to ourselves.
