We demand that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) prohibits registration of neonicotinoids, which are harmful insecticides that are causing major issues with our pollinators, until the regulatory review is finished in 2018. Neonicotinoids have a direct association to the decline in honey bees. As well as these insecticides causing immediate death, low levels also inhibit a bee’s ability to actively pollinate and do its job. We rely on honey bees to pollinate around 95 types of fruits in North America. If the use of neonicotinoids is continued, it could devastate agricultural production and essential crops that provide the world’s food. That means that humans will no longer have the luxury of basic necessities and food! 

The EPA is not taking the required action necessary to save the honey bee population as well as our food system. We cannot wait another 3 years. It is imperative that the EPA suspends the registration of neonicotinoids until they perform the required field study of pollinators, which has not been met yet.
