Help save the bee population by planting bee-friendly flowers!

The Issue

Bees are one of the most significant creatures to ever grace this Earth. Their efforts in pollination literally sustains life on Earth. They are the most efficient pollinator that we have, and without them we would be doomed. A third of all our food depends on their pollination. In Europe alone, the growth of over 4,000 vegetables depends on the essential work of pollinators. They pollinate 70 of the around 100 crop species that feed 90% of the world. Honey bees are responsible for $30 billion a year in crops. I could go on and on about the numbers, but you get the gist. Honeybees are an integral part of our diets, but that might change soon.

Our bees are in trouble. Over the past 10 years, beekeepers have been reporting annual hive losses of 30 percent or higher. This winter, many U.S. beekeepers experienced losses of 40 to 50 percent or more. This poses a great threat to global agriculture. We will suffer from a serious decline in food production if the bee populations continue to decline.

Fortunately, there is something we can do about this. My organization, "Help the World BEE Great" created the "B.E.E" project (Bee Empowerment Everyday). Through this program, we encourage citizens to plant flowers in order to provide habitats where our bees can thrive. For every signature, we will plant a bee-friendly flower. Please sign this petition so we can save the bee population and keep our crops plentiful.
