Straws, squished water bottles, plastic bags, chewed gum, cigarettes butts, and styrofoams. These are examples of trash that we see in the environment. Littering is major issue that many cities and communities are suffering. Its very easy to litter anywhere, what's not easy is cleaning up after ourselves. When people litter we are not just hurting the environment, but we are also destroying our one and only planet.

Garbage is everywhere. Cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City are included in the top dirtiest cities in America. Two reasons that there's trash everywhere in the environment is because of tourists and lack of littering enforcement. Hundreds to thousands of tourists are visiting certain cities, included in those cities is Los Angeles. Tourists come and go, but one thing that is left behind is their trash. Littering has negative impacts on humans when we don't pick up after ourselves. This includes polluting drainage systems, possible health issues and lastly it can harm animals life. Singapore is an example of a country that is free from dirt. Due to its laws and littering fines, people who lived in Singapore strictly obey these rules, failure to abide will pay the price depending on the crime.

Two solutions are possible for this issue, we can increase the signs of littering to remind people of the consequences, or we can enforce an active police unit that is specifically for littering purposes. Failure to follow the rules will result to a maximum fine of $1000. These solutions does not only apply to residents living in the neighborhood communities and cities, but as well as the tourists. With these solutions, it will make people consider their actions about littering. In addition, it will eliminate the trash in the environment thus, making mother nature proud. Don't you want to live in a clean environment?
