Blue Diamond Quarry Limited is proposing to burden the community of Maracas Valley with a new quarry! This is your chance to make your voice heard by saying yes to green hills, yes to preserving Trinidad & Tobago’s heritage, yes to clean water, and no to another quarry in the Maracas Valley.

This new quarry will be adjacent to the existing quarry operated by Coosal’s Construction Company Limited.

• It will require changing the route to the Caurita stone, which is of significance to the First People and the national community.
• It will mean a greater burden on the already overburdened single road leading into the valley.
• It will mean that Caurita’s residents will have to live with the impact of the noise and the vibrations from blasting on their homes and families.
• It also has not been clarified how the vibrations from blasting may affect the Caurita stone.
