The Issue
These century-old trees located at the KBG Complex otherwise known as Olongapo City Convention Complex (OCCC) are the mute witnesses on how Olongapo City had grown from a small resident village to what it is now - a bustling city providing welfare and improvement of the living conditions of Olongapeños.
But we cannot just let PROGRESS destroy our environment
These trees which are the living testimony of our past were planned to be cut down by our city government. They were deemed to be a hindrance to the proposed construction of buildings by the giant conglomerate SM Prime Holdings Inc. who leased the area.
Protecting our environment should be a part of our growth.
