Save the coastal wildlife of Thikkodi beach. Kerala, India
The Issue
Thikkodi beach is a beautiful part of the Kerala coast, known for its WILDLIFE that includes crabs, mussels and other sea life. Unfortunately, this ecosystem is now under threat, as evidenced by the depletion of mussel and crab population. The primary reason for this depletion is human intervention in the form of driving on the beach. Fuel powered vehicles dump oil and gas into the shallow waters, polluting the water and destroying once abundant wildlife along these beaches. If we want to preserve the beach and not lose it to this recklessness, we must act now to stop vehicles from entering the beach. There is simply no justification for destroying the beach by unnecessarily driving vehicles through the sand and shallow waters. Lets act to stop this!
