Petition updateBring the Lynx back to the UKSwedish Government To Allow The Killing Of 100s Of Red-Listed Animals, Including Lynx

We've enjoyed a close partnership with our Swedish counterparts for many years. We've had many open conversations about the UK's current biodiversity crisis, and have shared our understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy lynx population, to restore a natural wildlife balance. We've even been out to Sweden to track wild lynx and meet the people who work and live alongside them.

One of our contacts, Misha Istratov, recently published an insightful article on how even a country such as Sweden, with a reputation as a nation that respects nature and all its inhabitants, can get it badly wrong.

The Swedish government is allowing the killing of hundreds of red-listed animals including lynx. Essentially government-sanctioned trophy hunting. Their seemingly "representative" regional bodies are being disproportionately overrun by members of the hunting lobby, under the guise of a fair and balanced decision-making unit.

The hunting lobby represents a mere 3% of the population in Sweden.

We represent 92.8% of UK recipients in their support of reintroducing lynx to the UK following our extensive National survey.

And yet, the UK has no lynx.

We stand with the people of Sweden in their fight to protect lynx.

And we stand with the people of the UK in our fight to bring the lynx back home.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if those lynx that are destined to be shot, were instead translocated to the UK?

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We appreciate your continued support and commitment to bringing the lynx back to the UK. We get contacted a lot about how else you can help.

It’s very simple- share, share, share! We need to send a clear message that demonstrates the public support that we know we have.

  • Share this petition with your friends on social and by email
  • Share our content to amplify our voice
  • Make sure you're following us on Facebook and Instagram, so you never miss our content, updates and information.

These steps may be small, but they lead to massive changes.

Let's get the message out that the lynx needs to come back home and let's have a push for 20,000 signatures.

Many Thanks
