Kenya is currently facing a complex set of challenges including economic difficulties, extra judicial killings, abductions, large scale corruption, odious debt and a tone deaf leadership that has made the Gen Z populace say enough is enough! Public protests related to government policies, have led to social unrest. The government has responded with a disproportionate show of force using live rounds during protests, leading to unnecessary loss of life. A heartbreaking example, is a 12 year old girl, at home watching TV with her mother, who was shot in the head.
Many of Kenya's economic issues stem from the KES 6.95T Odious Debt which is seeing 73% Tax Revenue being used to service an illegal Debt that was incurred without the consent of the people and not benefiting the nation. Even if the current leadership changes, this country will continue to use systems that were set up by a colonial govt to impoverish the majority and benefit a few. Neo colonialism is alive and well. Pathways that allow KES 6.95 trillion to be given to Kenya illegally, attached to no development projects, bypassing the consolidated fund and thereby allowing plunder, keeps a noose around the necks of those who think they are free but are effectively kept slaves to 'donors.'
A child getting shot in the head in her own home has to be the final straw. Let us not allow her blood or the blood of any of the young people who have been killed, to have been shed in vain. Let their blood, be the blood of martyrs, that will usher in the Reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
If we ask our King, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Almighty God, to take over, it's checkmate for anyone, foreign or domestic, that is an enemy of the people. Kenya needs to be Enthroned to the Sacred Heart of Jesus! This is urgent! And with the help of your signature, the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops will hear our plea. Kenya is already consecrated to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. This happened on March 25, 2020 at Fatima, Portugal. Enthronement is the next step. The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart is the official and social recognition of Jesus' loving kingship. Let the Lord see our signatures and hear our prayers inviting Him to take over in Kenya.
Why Enthronement?
Providence always indicates the particular devotion that God knows we need, at a particular time. Popes, saints and even Christ Himself have enjoined upon us, the need for a deeper devotion to the Sacred Heart as an antidote for the evils of our day.
In 1907, Fr. Mateo Crawley Boevey, a young priest from Peru, began to spread the devotion of the Sacred Heart of Jesus among Catholic families. He made a pilgrimage to the shrine of the Sacred Heart at Paray-le-Monial in France where Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary in 1674 and then continued on to Rome. There he received not only a blessing upon this new apostolate, but a command from Pope St. Pius X to devote his entire life “for this work of social salvation.” Returning to Paray-le-Monial, he refined the ceremony of family enthronement on August 24, 1907.
Fr. Mateo would go from home to home enthroning the Sacred Heart in a place of honour. The results were startling. Fallen-aways returned to the sacraments; great sinners, including enemies of the church and high-ranking Freemasons, were converted. The spiritual growth of the entire parish was changed. It was a veritable Pentecost.
Families, nations and the world have been consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. King Alphonso XIII of Spain solemnly enthroned the Sacred Heart as King of Spain on May 30, 1919, in the presence of many bishops, civil officials and the civilian populace. Closer to home, on October 27, 1946, King Mutara III consecrated his country, Rwanda, to Christ the King, declaring: “Lord Jesus, King of all men and all nations, I, Mutara Charles Léon Pierre, bow to you and to your mother, Mary, Queen of the earth and heaven."
Little wonder then that Our Lady appeared to warn of the Rwandan genocide 13 years before it happened. She pleaded with them, through some school children in Kibeho, to pray the Seven Sorrows Rosary to avert what was to come; she called it a river of blood. Unfortunately they did not listen. Kibeho to date is the only Vatican approved Marian Apparition in Africa. Rwanda's economy has experienced robust growth in recent years, driven by expansion in the services and industry sectors, with agriculture also contributing significantly.
Society’s basic building block is the family. That is why there is such a worldwide push to destroy the family unit as we know it. Society is a mirror of the families composing it. If you want change to come to Kenya, enthrone your homes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Simply do the First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for 9 months (it's available online). After completion of the nine months, set aside a place you can pray as a family. It can be a simple table or stool where you place the image of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart, a candle, or also some flowers. Say the Enthronement prayers as a family (again this is available online) you can also invite a priest (this is optional). There are those who wish to make this process complicated. It is not. It is as simple as I have described.
Challenges to Catholic families grow every day in our secular world. The Catholic home must become a strong citadel against the rising tide of immorality in society. The family must be well defended against all evil influence so that young people can grow in wisdom, grace and holiness.
Our Lord assured us that: “Tepid souls shall become fervent; fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.” Those truly devoted to the Sacred Heart demonstrate their love for Christ by frequent attendance at Mass and the devout reception of the sacraments. By recalling that Our Lord is King of the home, parents can be confident that He who would “suffer the little children to come to Him” will help them attain the Kingdom of Heaven. This is also an efficacious means of fostering religious vocations that are sorely needed today. Blessings flow abundantly to all who honour our Lord. The image of the Sacred Heart officially enthroned in the home is a visible reminder that He is its King. Now imagine what He can do for Kenya? Through this enthronement of the Sacred Heart as King of Kenya, families will be preserved and sanctified. Jesus promised St. Margaret Mary: “I will establish peace in their homes.”
Countless conversions of loved ones and friends have taken place through the enthronement of the home to the Sacred Heart. Catholics should place unbounded confidence in the Good Shepherd, who can bring back the erring members of their families. Should we not be convinced that the Gospel story of the prodigal son comes true in real life? Jesus promised: “I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.”
Let us then, enthrone our homes and Kenya to the Sacred Heart. Let us implore the guidance and support of the Two Hearts in the joys, sorrows and crosses of life. Start the journey of Enthronement of your home on the First Friday of the next month. Do the devotion as a family for nine months and thereafter, you will be ready to Enthrone. You can also do the First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate Heart for five months to pray for our dear country Kenya (also available online).
Please note that change.org asks for donations to amplify this message. That money goes to them, so please do not send any money. Choose instead, the option of sharing this with as many people as possible. Also, do not sign this petition if you do not intend to Enthrone your own home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Sign it as a commitment to begin the First Friday Devotion and the First Saturday Devotion next month. The devotion consists of very simple prayers that you do on the first Friday of every month, go for confession and attend Holy Mass. The first Saturday Devotion is simply praying the Holy Rosary with 15 minutes meditation on the mysteries and Holy Mass. Again, very simple. Remember, it starts with the family. Society is a mirror of who we are. If we have poor leaders, who put them there? We did. Who raised them from toddlers into adulthood? We did. Change starts with you and I. Beginning the month honouring the Two Hearts is not asking for much, is it?
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us and the whole world.
Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. Joseph, husband of Mary, pray for us.
Saints Peter and Paul, pray for us.
St. John at the foot of the Cross, pray for us.
St. Mary Magdalene, pray for us.
