Yesterday’s March4Justice was a historic event where tens of thousands of people came together to peacefully direct their anger towards solidarity, progress and meaningful solutions.
At the rally, Anita and I presented this petition to the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP and Senator Larissa Waters. We received support from Labor and Greens politicians including Adam Bandt and Mehreen Faruqi.
Labor women then each carried in 10,000 signatures to Parliament House, and Tanya tabled them in Parliament. Congratulations on projecting your voice into Parliament House!
Women’s safety and advancement are now on the radar of every Australian. But we do not yet have an independent inquiry into the rape allegations against the AG (which he denies and now is suing for defamation), and our PM didn’t attend the march and then implied we lucky we didn’t get shot for protesting.
It’s imperative that we keep up the pressure and keep women’s safety at the front of the news. Please join our #EnoughIsEnough campaign and start contacting your MP to push for the inquiry and for the measures necessary for women’s justice and equity.
This movement is just starting to build up - we must keep fighting.
Please, click here to email your MP to ask them to do everything they can to pressure the PM. We're not going away. Enough is enough.
