Charges of dishonesty will always by their nature create great debate about whether a practitioner should remain on the register. Yet the methodology to determine whether the person investigated is dishonest has been called into question a number of times in the High Courts.

The way in which charges are formulated have also been criticised sometimes giving the practitioner no option but to plead guilty as the statements are those of fact rather than identifying a dishonest act.
