Campaign Update – Public Engagement & Transparency

Thank you to everyone who has supported this petition so far.
At the time of writing, the Clackmannanshire Council budget consultation earlier in the year reportedly received feedback from 203 households, as reported in the Alloa Advertiser. We are now at over 227.
This petition has now surpassed that figure, highlighting growing public interest in the request for clarity around the £1 million Coalsnaughton support fund announced by First Minister John Swinney.
Residents are simply asking Clackmannanshire Council to publicly confirm that this funding will be ring-fenced and used for its intended purpose to support those affected.
This comes amid wider concerns frequently raised by residents around transparency and public engagement, including previous Freedom of Information responses obtained by Clackmannanshire Council Memes, which referenced council payments to COSLA totalling £422,321.92 between 2020 and 2025.
The key point remains straightforward:
👉 People are seeking clear reassurance that the £1 million support fund will be protected and directed to Coalsnaughton residents as intended.
We will continue to update supporters as this progresses.
Thank you again for your support and engagement.
