Dear supporters,
Ontario MPP and animal lover Christine Hogarth has agreed to present our petition "Pets are not Property" to Parliament!! This is HUGE and I hope you are just as excited about it as we are. The timing is perfect since recently there have been significant changes to how pets are treated in British Columbia. Instead of being seen as mere objects like lamps and tables, pets are now recognized as beloved family members.
Note: Online petitions are NOT accepted by Parliament so I created a paper version for Ontario residents that you can sign out of the comfort of your home. The more signatures we gather, the stronger the message we'll send to the Ontario Legislature when MPP Hogarth presents it.
**NOTE: ONLY Ontario residents can sign the paper version of the petition**
What we need: To have as many signatures from Ontario residents on paper petitions as possible!
How we do it:
2. SIGN the petition. Just your own signature is enough to mail it in. You only need 1 signature, although the more the merrier. (only ORIGINAL signatures are allowed, NO e-signatures, NO photocopy, NO fax/e-mail/scan)
3. Ask your friends and family to sign IN-PERSON (only ORIGINAL signatures are allowed, NO e-signatures, NO photocopy, NO fax/e-mail/scan).
Your workplace can be a great place to gather signatures.
4. Please mail or drop off the petition to MPP Christine Hogarth's office at Unit 21, 195 Norseman St, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 0E9
(If you are dropping off the petition in-person, please check her office hours on Google).
Some important details to note:
1. First and last name, full mailing address and signatures are all mandatory fields. Please fill in all the fields.
2. You do not need to have all 7 signatures (as the table has 7 rows). If you have 1 or more signature(s) that is enough to mail it in! Just your own signature is enough.
3. You can print as many copies as you want if you can get enough signatures (the more the merrier).
4. ONLY Ontario residents can sign the paper petition.
5. Please try to mail it in/drop it off so the MPP's office receives it by mid-March.
If you have any questions please e-mail me: alieshav16@gmail.com. Please also email me to let me know you will be participating in this important initiative so I have an estimated count.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for making this happen!
Love,
Aliesha & Rocco
