Dear Supporters,

If you missed our previous update please read it now: An Ontario MPP has agreed to present our petition to parliament!!!! If you live in Ontario, I need your help with this. Please read the update and send me an e-mail.

As we go into the holiday season, Rocco and I want to express our deepest gratitude for your support in helping companion animals gain better legal recognition.

Some of you reached out to ask about our personal legal battle and why a decision hasn’t been made yet. There are a few reasons:

1. This is a precedent-setting Estate case that will determine how these types of cases are handled in the future. It’s the very first Estate case in Canada dealing with a pet after the death of one of the pet’s parents.

2. It was a very large application. For more on that, you can read this CBC article. The hearing was postponed from the original August date.

3. Brampton is the busiest courthouse in all of Canada.

I’m looking forward to a positive decision by the court.

Wishing you and your loved ones a holiday season filled with love and laughter! Your kindness has made a big difference in our lives, and we are truly grateful for your support...!

With our deepest gratitude,

Aliesha and Rocco
