Did you know that this is the FIRST reported ownership issue surrounding an animal after the death of one potential claimant? Normally, when someone passes away, the surviving person caring for the animal continues that care. 

This is the first case in Canada where the family of the deceased is asking that a pet be considered a part of the deceased's estate property and handed over to them.

This gives us an opportunity to ask decision makers to recognize our pets as sentient beings. One day our pets will be recognized for their sentience, let that day be TODAY!
