Dear neighbors. It's no secret that these days the once simple and carefree act of walking and driving in our neighborhood has become a dangerous and risky business. We've all seen this ever-increasing trend of erratic, aggressive driving and speeding in front of our building and those buildings neighboring us on Warburton. As a resident and neighbor, I believe that it's time to take action before someone is seriously injured or killed. As you probably know, there have been fatalities from this new and unprecedented level of hostile driving throughout our area.
Just the other day, right in front of our beautiful building, a driver heading northbound on Warburton narrowly missed a pedestrian who was about to cross the street as the driver accelerated rapidly and carelessly swerved around the car in front of him into the opposite southbound lane. Speeding drivers haphazardly pass cars in front of them if they deem the car ahead to be moving too slowly. Just a few weeks ago a woman pulling out of the driveway next door was hit by a speeder. I was told of a dog owner's pet that was killed as she attempted to walk across the street.

It is time to take action.
I am assembling a petition to present to Mayor Spano and his team to motivate him to immediately begin laying permanent speed bumps and speed limit and speed tracking signs and to regularly station a Yonfers P.D. car or cars to slow these aggressors down. 
There is an election coming up and residents in this building and others in the vicinity are people who show up in high percentages at the polls. Let's present a petition to Mayor Spano and his team to see if we can get them to do something about this life-threatening trend now, before it's too late.
Our strip of buildings is the area where the most foot traffic occurs.
