Parole hearing will be in March 2025. On August 25, 1990, a horrific tragedy struck our family. My Aunt Linda Evers, was maliciously murdered by Jeffrey Hengehold, a man she met once at a local bar in White Oak, Hengehold roofied her drink & they left together. After a chance encounter, the night quickly spiraled into a dreadful nightmare. Linda was seen on a security tape at a gas station in Cleves, OH, noticeably frightened and pleading for her life, while Hengehold coldly dismissed her terror, telling the unsuspecting clerk that Linda was his 'old lady' & drunk. As the clerk was deceived by Hengehold's word, Linda was forced out of the gas station, carried over his shoulder, and thrown into her car.
The heart-wrenching narrative ends with Linda's life. It gruesomely ended as he raped her and set her car on fire with her still alive and knocked out and her body was found smoldering the next morning. All these years of grief and pain cannot be erased, but justice has to be served. While Hengehold was put behind bars, and got a life sentence, our fear is for him to walk free one day. Hengehold got a life sentence but has had parole hearings since 2016.  We have had to do this every 4 years  Prosecutor Joe Deters (at the time of his service), said He was callous, malicious & would do it again.
