Background and Current Situation:

Tens of thousands of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka continue to face systematic discrimination, land-grabs, military surveillance, and serious human rights violations. The historical conflict and ongoing political instability have left Tamils without adequate protection or basic human rights in their homeland.

Why Action is Needed:

International recognition of the risks faced by Eelam Tamil activists, journalists, and civilians is essential. Arbitrary detentions, harassment, and suppression of Tamil heritage continue unabated.

Our Appeal:

We urge the international community, human rights organizations, and governments to stand up for the safety and dignity of Eelam Tamils, ensure protection for those fleeing persecution, and demand accountability.

இலங்கையில் ஈழத் தமிழர்கள் தொடர்ந்து முறையான பாகுபாடு, நில ஆக்கிரமிப்பு, இராணுவக் கண்காணிப்பு மற்றும் கடுமையான மனித உரிமை மீறல்களை எதிர்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர். நீண்டகாலப் போர் மற்றும் அரசியல் நிலையற்ற தன்மை காரணமாகத் தமிழர்கள் தங்கள் சொந்த மண்ணில் அடிப்படைப் பாதுகாப்பையோ அல்லது உரிமைகளையோ பெற முடியாத சூழல் நிலவுகிறது.

நடவடிக்கை ஏன் அவசியம்:

ஈழத்தமிழ் செயல்பாட்டாளர்கள், ஊடகவியலாளர்கள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் அபாயங்களை சர்வதேச சமூகம் அங்கீகரிப்பது அவசியமாகும். தன்னிச்சையான கைதுகள், அச்சுறுத்தல்கள் மற்றும் தமிழ் பாரம்பரியத்தை நசுக்கும் செயல்கள் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெறுகின்றன.

எங்கள் கோரிக்கை:

ஈழத் தமிழர்களின் பாதுகாப்பு, மனித உரிமைகள் மற்றும் சுயமரியாதையைப் பாதுகாக்க சர்வதேச அமைப்புகளும் அரசாங்கங்களும் குரல் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்றும், பாதுகாப்பைத் தேடி அடைக்கலம் கோருவோருக்கு உரிய ஆதரவை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
