The Issue

Freedom of religion is a fundamental human right, enshrined in various international declarations and constitutions worldwide. However, there are regions where this sacred freedom is under threat by state interventions in religious affairs. Specifically, in our community, the inability to elect our own pastors or committee members without state interference is a direct violation of our rights to worship and religious autonomy.

Faith should be a personal journey, untainted by government control. The right to practice one's religion freely and elect faith leaders democratically within one's religious institution must be protected. Our religious spaces should be zones of peace and free will, not arenas where external powers dictate spiritual guidance.

Statistics have shown that communities with autonomous religious institutions experience greater social cohesion and individual satisfaction in their spiritual lives. According to a study by the Pew Research Center, religious communities that operate free from governmental control report higher engagement and fulfillment among their congregants.

We are calling on our local and national government officials to respect the separation of church and state. This means allowing religious institutions to operate independently, enabling our community members to choose their spiritual leaders and manage their religious spaces according to their beliefs, without any interference.

By signing this petition, you stand with us in defending our right to religious freedom and ensuring that our faith practices are left to our own discretion. We urge the authorities to uphold these fundamental freedoms and protect the autonomy of religious organizations from any governmental control. Sign now to make your voice heard and to safeguard the sacred right to worship freely.
