I write this petition because my rights have been tarnished simply due to my age. Legally, I have no say, and those around me make all decisions for me, speak on my behalf, and strip me of my autonomy. This institution has rendered me voiceless, and it sickens me to my core because I cannot do anything for myself in this environment.

This experience isn’t unique to me. Many children in the United States face similar constraints. Deprived of autonomy, they are often exploited and used for others' gains without any opportunity to voice their own needs and desires.

This country needs to recognize and address the issue of child exploitation by enhancing the laws and regulations which protect children's rights. This includes legislative measures to ensure that children’s voices are heard and that they have the right to make decisions regarding their lives in a safe and supportive environment.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, over 60% of children in various parts of the country face some form of exploitation or abuse, with a significant percentage of them unable to report or defend themselves due to systemic inefficiencies. It is crucial that the U.S. takes a proactive stance by setting up independent bodies where children can report grievances, ensuring their voices are taken seriously and acted upon.

Ensuring proper education and community programs that focus on children's rights can greatly aid in raising awareness about the importance of child autonomy. Parents, educators, and lawmakers must come together to create a community where every child feels empowered and valued. This includes providing training for parents and caregivers on children's rights and how to uphold them effectively.
