Ensure Ashburn Farm HOA hears residents' concerns

Ensure Ashburn Farm HOA hears residents' concerns
The Issue
The Ashburn Farm Community, located in Loudoun County, Virginia, is known for its beautiful neighborhoods, active community, and commitment to ensuring a high quality of life for all residents. However, recent developments have caused alarm among community members, particularly the sudden decision to reduce our summer swim program to practice only. This decision was made during an executive session by the Ashburn Farm Homeowners Association (HOA) Board of Trustees. This decision was made without prior announcement or opportunity for community input, a practice that does not align with the HOA's mission to serve transparently and democratically.
The Barracuda swim team has been an integral part of our community for years and, primarily, consists of Ashburn Farm residents. It provides not only a recreational outlet for children and families but also fostering a spirit of teamwork, discipline, and community engagement. The decision to eliminate all home swim meets and evening activities without proper communication or an ability for the Barracuda Board to address any concerns erodes trust in the HOA's governance and disregards the interests of the residents.
We, as concerned members of the Ashburn Farm community, are calling on the HOA to officially hear our concerns and ensure that any decisions affecting our community are made in a transparent manner with ample opportunity for resident feedback. Specifically, we urge the HOA to:
1. Place the Barracuda's future on the agenda for the next public meeting, allowing for open discussion and a community vote.
2. Commit to documenting and recording all decisions affecting community programs in an accessible manner, ensuring accountability and transparency.
3. Re-evaluate the process by which decisions are made in executive sessions to include community input or, at the very least, provide clear post-session communication regarding these decisions.
Our aim is to restore trust between the HOA and the residents of Ashburn Farm, ensuring that the voices of the community are heard and respected. By signing this petition, you are advocating for a fair, open, and collaborative decision-making process that truly reflects the needs and desires of those living in Ashburn Farm.
We kindly ask all Ashburn Farm residents, and those who value transparency and community involvement, to support this petition. Together, we can make a difference and ensure our community remains a vibrant place for families and future generations. Please sign and share this petition to help restore transparency and accountability in our community governance.
