Miya's Law (SB 898 // HB 577) was filed today by Fla. Sen. Linda Stewart and Fla. Rep. Robin Bartleman. In its current form it:

  • Introduces the requirement for background checks of apartment complex employees
  • Expands "reasonable notice" for repairs from 12 hours to 24 hours
  • Requires apartment complexes to log the issuance of keys for all dwelling units
