UPDATE on 11/12: ADDED WAYS TO SUPPORT MIYA'S LAW

Arden Villas is responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Miya Marcano. She was kidnapped in broad daylight by a coworker in the apartment complex she hoped would keep her safe, and due to Arden Villas' lack of safety measures, there is little evidence to go on. For years, residents have reported inappropriate behavior of the maintenance men that enter their apartments. Their reviews are littered with evidence of these trash. Yet they did nothing, and now Miya is dead.

There have been instances in the past of sick men preying on vulnerable young women in our community, and Arden Villas couldn't do anything to help and wouldn't do anything to prevent it in the future. This is the gross negligence and utter disrespect they have shown us for years. We are a community of college kids. Miya Marcano was only 19. Since Miya first went missing, Arden Villas has done little to reassure us of our safety. They have said they will change the way maintenance is done, but they have made no statements about breaking our leases. We are scared. We are angry.

We want justice for Miya, justice for ourselves, and justice for all future residents of this community. We just want this place to feel safe again.

Please help us show Arden Villas that we have a voice. Please help us show them the value of safety measures. Please help us show them our list of safety demands, and help us make them implement them.
