As a student at Niagara Wheatfield High School, I find myself frequently subjected to a rather inconvenient and uncomfortable situation: the inadequate availability of restrooms for male students. Every day, I and countless others must wait in long lines, sign in to use the restroom, be observed by an armed guard, and sign out once done. This not only disrupts our daily routine but also infringes on our dignity and rights to privacy.

This petition seeks to rectify this restrictive restroom policy. Research has shown that long waiting times for restroom use can adversely affect a student's ability to focus and participate in educational activities. It persists as a breach of our human rights, as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that the dignity of the child must be respected at all times (Article 16).

We urge the school administration to immediately address this issue by providing unrestricted access to all restrooms for male students in the school. The current bathroom policy creates unnecessary stress, distraction, and discomfort among the student community, which is an unacceptable barrier to our holistic growth and development.
