Problem.
Loneliness is a serious issue for elderly and foreign students. It can lead to depression, heart problems, higher stress and decreased memory. This problem is especially significant during Coronatime.

Possible solution.

Chat benches placed around Enschede and UT campus could solve this situation and invite people to talk to each other, share their stories and make new friends. It's simple benches with a sign saying "chat benches". So, people can sit down on of one of these indicating that they want to talk and others can join them. 

Aftermath

A few benches could be placed around Campus, in parks and in the city centre if we draw enough attention. This idea will be presented to Student Union, Facility management of UT and Enschede municipality.

Probleem

Eenzaamheid is een ernstig probleem voor oudere en buitenlandse studenten.
It can lead to depression, heart problems, higher stress and decreased
memory. Dit probleem is vooral significant tijdens coronatijd.

Oplossing

Chatbanken rondom Enschede en UT Campus kunnen deze situatie oplossen
en mensen uitnodigen om met elkaar te praten, hun verhalen te delen en
nieuwe vrienden te maken.
Het zijn eenvoudige banken met een bordje met de tekst 'chatbanken'.
Mensen kunnen dus op een van deze gaan zitten om aan te geven dat ze
willen praten en anderen kunnen zich bij hen aansluiten.
